Second Day of The World Fire Fighting Championship in China

From September 5 to 11, 2024, the XIX Men's and X Women's World Championships in Fire and Rescue Sports are be held in Harbin, China.

 

On the second day of the event, the athletes competed in the "Overcoming the 100-Meter Obstacle Course" event.

For the men's individual competition, the results were as follows:

1. Nikita Ukolov (Belarus): 15.08 seconds

2. Dmitry Grebenshchikov (Russia): 17.82 seconds

3. Bauyrzhan Tekenov (Kazakhstan): 20.45 seconds

4. Alexey Rodin (Russia)

The results of the women's final race are as follows:

1. Alexander Poshvenchuk (Belarus)

2. Gayane Akopova (Russia)

3. Ekaterina Chendakova (Russia)

4. Valeria Furyk (Belarus)

According to the results of the two competitive days, the Russian national teams have taken the lead in the team competition. In men's division, the Chinese team is in second place and Belarus and Uzbekistan share third place. In women's division, Belarus holds the second position, while Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took third place. Athletes still have two more team events ahead that require teamwork, unity, and confidence not only in themselves but also in their teammates.

Tomorrow, the teams will compete in the 4x100 fire relay event. On their way to the coveted title, they will have to overcome four stages: climb a house using a ladder, jump over a fence, run through a boom, connect hoses with a coupling, and deal with fire by extinguishing its source.
