Vadim Sinyavsky awarded the winners and prize-winners of the contest for the best media coverage of rescue operations

The winners of the Republican contest for the best coverage of emergency service activities and the basics of life safety were recognized at the Educational Safety Center of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergencies. The Minister presented well-deserved awards and valuable gifts to journalists.

At the opening of the event, Vadim Sinyavsky noted that good partnerships had developed between the Ministry for Emergency Situations and the media. This was evident in the constant growth of special projects, themed stories, and headlines. He also expressed gratitude to the journalists for their personal involvement and dedication, as well as their innovative solutions and creative approaches to covering the activities of the rescue service.

“The Ministry for Emergency Situations places great importance on conducting information work with the public in order to objectively highlight the activities of our service for emergency prevention and response and to promote safety culture among citizens. We rely on the media's support in this effort. The media that truthfully report on events and bring the basics of safe behavior to the public help anticipate emergency situations and serve as an essential tool for our Ministry to interact with citizens.”

The organizing Committee of the contest summed up the results in four nominations: "Efficiency and Objectivity", "The Best Author", "The Best Project" and "Mainstreaming Life Safety Knowledge for the Population", and also identified the winner of a special prize in the nomination "Youth – for Safety".

In the nomination "Efficiency and Objectivity":

3rd place – the district newspaper "The Mayak Palessya" (Gomel) and the TV company "Bug-TV" (Brest);

2nd place – the program "The Minsk Region" of the TV channel "STV" and the news agency "The Minsk-news";

1st place – the project "ЧП.ВY " NTV-Belarus TV channel and the editorial office of Lidamediacompany (Grodno).

In the nomination "The Best Author":

3rd Place - Elena Kalacheva, correspondent for the TV channel Laguna TV (Brest), and Oleg Shapel, local correspondent for the ONT channel in the Vitebsk region. 2nd Place - Valeria Khvedchenya, special correspondent for the Alarm Button Project of ONT, and Tatyana Skakun, a correspondent for “The Minskaya Pravda”.

1st Place - Ruslan Proleskovsky, local correspondent for Gomel Region for “The Belarus Today” publishing house, and Veronika Kanuta, editor for the policy department at Zvyazda publishing house.

In the category "The Best Project":

3rd Place: the project “Service 101” by the editorial team of “The Vitbichi” and “The Evening Vitebsk” newspapers, and “Our Life is in Our Hands” by Bobruisk Media.

2nd Place: Radyesluzhba Byaspek by the First National Radio Channel, and Criminal_net by the Grodno Plus TV channel.

1st place - the heading "112" of the program "Our Morning" on the ONT TV-channel and the project "Evolution of Salvation" by ATN Belteleradiocompany.

In the nomination "Mainstreaming Life Safety Knowledge for the Population":

3rd place - the republican newspaper for children and teenagers "The Zorka" and the regional newspaper "The Krycheuskaya Zhizn" (Mogilev);

2nd place - the regional newspaper "The Dniaprovec" (Gomel) and the regional newspaper "The Niasvizhskiye Naviny" (Minsk Region);

1st place - the program "Regional News" of the Belarus-1 TV-channel and the Belarus Telegraph Agency.

A special prize was awarded to Tatiana Khramenkova, a special correspondent for the Gomel region for the joint editorial board of the magazines “The Rescue Service” and “The Young Rescuer”. After the award ceremony, media representatives went on a tour of the Educational Life Safety Center of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and visited more than 30 interactive locations, based on the common goal of teaching the population how to protect themselves and act in emergency situations.
