Humanitarian aid was delivered to the Orenburg and Kurgan regions.

Сегодня белорусские спасатели доставили гуманитарную помощь общим весом 36 тонн в пострадавшую от паводка Курганскую область: два большегруза МЧС Беларуси прибыли в город Курган.

Two heavy trucks from the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus arrived in the city of Kurgan with bedding, blankets, clothes and food for the flood victims in the Urals. Since the beginning of the flood season, a total of 2,160 residential houses and 6,114 country cottages have been flooded in seven municipalities and fifty-one settlements in the Kurgan region. For precautionary measures, more than 15,000 people, including over 2,000 children, were evacuated. 1,808 people were temporarily housed in temporary accommodations, including 658 children. The rest stayed with their relatives.

Letters of thanks and medals "375 Years of Fire Protection in Russia" were presented to employees of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus from the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Kurgan region.

The day before, on May 29th, a part of the humanitarian aid intended for the Orenburg region arrived at its destination. The aid was transferred to the office of the governor and the government of the region for further distribution to areas in need. It should be noted that the aid, with a total weight of approximately 56 tons and a volume of 260 cubic meters, was promptly assembled at the order of the Head of State and sent by road to the Orenburg and Kurgan regions, accompanied by representatives of the MES of Belarus. The aid contains medical supplies, bedding, blankets, essential items, canned goods, underwear, clothing, including children's, and shoes.

For reference, the Republic of Belarus regularly provides humanitarian assistance to countries affected by emergencies. Since 1999, for example, the country has provided international assistance 84 times in 34 different countries. Last year alone, humanitarian aid was provided five times.
