Vadim Sinyavsky met with representatives from the UAE's National Agency for Crisis and Disaster Management

On July 11, as part of the delegation's participation in the meeting of the heads of emergency agencies from BRICS countries, Vadim Sinyavsky had a meeting with Obeid Rashid Juma Al Hassan Al Shamsi, Deputy Head of the National Agency for Crisis and Disaster Management of the United Arab Emirates.

The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and the UAE in the field of emergency response and prevention, and expressed their willingness to continue bilateral collaboration within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry for  Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the National Crisis and Disaster Management Agency of the UAE.

For reference: Since 2011, the University of Civil Protection has trained 183 specialists from the United Arab Emirates.

Vadim Sinyavsky stressed the importance of teaching people the basics of safety and talked about the 11 safety education centers in Belarus, where visitors can practice rescue and self-rescue skills using innovative technologies and simulators. The parties discussed cooperation and exchange of experience in this field.

Also today, the heads of the emergency agencies  of the BRICS countries visited an exhibition of fire and rescue technique and equipment  the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, where they studied the experience of rescue operations conducted by the EMERCOM of Russia on land and water.

Russian specialists demonstrated various rescue operations, both on land and on water. On a river, they put out a simulated fire on a ship, rescued people in distress, and prevented a possible fuel spill. 50 specialists, including rescue paratroopers and divers, completed the tasks using 15 pieces of equipment belonging to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including aviation from the Russian Ministry. The Russian rescuers also demonstrated their skills in dealing with the aftermath of an accident. At the end of the event, the leaders of the delegations expressed their willingness to further develop contacts, with a focus on practical cooperation.

It should be noted that the delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus is participating in a meeting of heads of emergency services from BRICS countries. The delegation is led by the minister, who delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Vadim Sinyavsky also had a meeting with the Minister for Emergency Situations of China today.
