Today, as part of the participation of the delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Belarus in the meeting of emergency agencies heads from BRICS countries in Kazan, the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, Vadim Sinyavsky, held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Xiangxi.

During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between the rescue agencies of Belarus and China were discussed in various areas: emergency response, fire safety supervision, cooperation within international organizations, sports, and other areas.

Vadim Sinyavsky informed his colleague about the planned participation of the national teams of the Belarusian Ministry for Emergency Situations in fire and rescue competitions at the World Championships for men and women, which will take place in Harbin, People's Republic of China, in September this year. He also invited Wang Xiangxi to visit Belarus to learn more about the work of the Ministry.

For reference: The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China was established in 2018, combining the functions of several other departments within the country. This new ministry includes the Earthquake Administration, State Administration for Safety Monitoring of Coal Mines, and Fire and Rescue Services. On October 26, 2021, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry for Emergency Management of China regarding prevention and response to natural and man-made disasters. Cooperation between the two countries has been ongoing for many years, with joint events taking place both online and in person. So, last year, five employees of the Belarusian Ministry for Emergency Situations took part in earthquake response exercises in Beijing.
