Vadim Sinyavsky took part in a meeting of heads of emergency services from the BRICS member countries

On July 10th, a meeting of emergency agencies heads from the BRICS countries took place in Kazan, Russia. A delegation from Belarus, led by Minister for Emergency Situations Vadim Sinyavsky, attended the meeting.

For reference: The BRICS is an intergovernmental organization that was established in 2006 to promote economic cooperation among its members. The current members include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Ethiopia. Belarus is currently a candidate for admission into the BRICS, and Vadim Sinyavsky's delegation was invited to attend the meeting in Kazan.

Representatives from the emergency services of Belarus, China, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia gathered in Kazan for a meeting with remote participation of India, and South Africa. The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, also participated in the event.

During the meeting, representatives discussed the collaboration between the BRICS countries in emergency prevention and response. The results of the work carried out by the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations as part of Russia's presidency in the BRICS were also reviewed.

Minister Vadim Sinyavsky emphasized the willingness of the MES of Belarus to share its experience in disaster management and industrial accident prevention. He expressed hope for further cooperation between Belarus and other BRICS members.

The meeting led to the adoption of the Kazan Declaration, which outlines the common approaches of the BRICS countries towards cooperation in emergency prevention and response.

The program of the visit includes bilateral meetings with the leaders of the delegations from China and the United Arab Emirates. The Belarusian delegation will also visit an exhibition showcasing fire and rescue equipment, including elements demonstrating emergency rescue operations in road accidents and fighting deployment. They will get acquainted with the exhibition of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Ministry for Emergencies of Russia in Tatarstan, and attend demonstrations of rescuing victims in water using swimming equipment and aircraft of the Russian Ministry for  Emergency Situations.
